Full Description
Pottery has a historical legacy in Bangladesh. Despite facing obstacles, the potters managed to pass on their survival abilities from generation to generation. This empirical knowledge indicates the awe-inspiring work that has managed to retain its place as one of a kind in the world, as well as the outstanding artistic abilities of the inhabitants of specific regions of Bangladesh. Iconic Savar Brass, Pottery Village is one of the venues specializing in this aspect and has earned noteworthy fame for its spectacular work.
The journey will start after picking you up from your hotel or residence. After reaching Dhamrai, a 30-minute boat journey towards the pottery village of Kakran will start. You will experience the pottery village's beauty and the villagers' lifestyle. The unique design and ornamental pottery creation of the age-old experienced villagers will amaze you greatly. In addition, you can participate in the process of creating your pottery while learning from these experts. You will be able to buy pottery directly from there if you want. Then, at 1 PM, the return boat journey towards Nayerhat Bazar will start, concluding in Nabinagar by driving. You will get your lunch at a local restaurant on this tour round. The tour will then be resumed, heading towards Dhamrai to visit the Metal Crafts Workshop. In this place, you will see a metal crafts workshop where the villagers make ancient brass and bronze statues. They are making these crafts using ancient lost-wax techniques from many of their generations. You can buy fascinating souvenirs made of brass directly from the artisans.
Finally, you will be taken to the respectable National Martyr Memorial in Savar. This historical monument was built to pay tribute to the people killed during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. This surely will drive your emotions towards immense respect for the martyrs. We’ll start our journey towards Dhaka in the late afternoon, and you’ll be dropped at your preferred place.
